A man in Penang became the centre of attention during his vaccination appointment as he showed up wearing a plastic bag over his head
According to a Facebook post by Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), the man showed up for his vaccination appointment on campus yesterday, 8 July.
The post read, "Appreciate good people, they are hard to come by. This uncle came for vaccination at USM PPV today, looking a little bizarre. He arrived by taxi. He sure did attract the crowd and we can hear whispers and sarcastic laughs from the public."
The man proceeded to get his jab but did something amazing right after.
He walked over to the secretariat on duty and handed him a stack of RM50 notes.
The post explained that the man wanted the money to be used to buy lunch for the staff at the vaccination centre.
He was quoted as saying, "The frontliners have been working very hard. Please buy them lunch."
"He then left and can be seen easing himself into the same taxi that brought him there. He stunned us with his generosity and humanity," the post elaborated.
"Dear uncle, God bless. Let us give him some love."
Netizens applauded the man for his generosity
One person wrote, "The world needs more people like you, uncle. You carried yourself proudly, being you and you only. You have empowered many out there today. Thank you, uncle."
Another netizen commented, "Don't judge his plastic covers. His heart is even more humane than those plastic hearts who laughed sarcastically before. Shame. He has more money than us. Good job, uncle!"
"You're gold! I wish you long life and good health, uncle! You deserve all the respect and love from us. Salute!" another comment read.
