[VIDEO] Man Using Emergency Lane Whips Out Steering Lock To Threaten Another Driver
The incident took place near Gua Tempurung, Perak on 13 January.
The steering lock torch of road bullies has been passed on.
This time, it is a man who was seen wielding the yellow-red-black 'mace'.
In an incident that happened on Thursday, 16 January, a dashcam video showing an alleged road bully brandishing a steering lock at a driver on a highway went viral.
The three minutes and 51 seconds video showed two cars using the emergency lane on a highway at Gua Tempurung, Perak heading to Kuala Lumpur.
A Toyota Vios, bearing a Melaka number plate, almost collided into two motorcycles that stopped on the emergency lane.
According to the video, the incident happened at around 3.27pm on Monday, 13 January.
Despite the near collision, the Toyota Vios continued to drive on the emergency lane before stopping in front of the vehicle with the dashcam
At the same time, a Proton Satria emerged from the emergency lane, blocking the victim's vehicle from the left side.
The dashcam captured drivers from both cars gesturing angrily at the victim before one of them pulled out a steering lock and pointed it at the victim.
However, it is not clear why the drivers were mad at the victim.
The altercation stopped when one of the motorcyclists from before came to de-escalate the situation
The abang with a red backpack told the steering-lock-wielding road bully to calm down and encouraged him to get back into his car, which he did after some persuasion.
The video was shared over 3,700 times at the time of writing.
After the video went viral, netizens started posting screenshots of the man on Facebook while collectively criticising his actions
A netizen's post read, "A few years ago, we had steering lock sister, and today we finally see a steering lock brother."
Netizens flooded the comments section to criticise the road bullies.
"Report police ya... This type of people need to be punished," a Facebook user wrote.
"Here is a very clear picture of the road bully. Hurry up and share it," another netizen commented.
Some netizens commended the abang who helped de-escalate the situation
"Salute to the bike brother. He dared to control the situation. If he didn't persuade the road bully, it is quite possible that the victim would get a beating," said a netizen.
