Thankfully, the motorcyclist only suffered minor injuries.
Road users in KL were given a shock recently when a horrific accident involving a MPV and a motorcyclist happened right in front of them
A white Perodua Alza was going straight when it knocked a motorcyclist that was making a turn at a junction. The impact sent the motorcyclist flying in the air before falling onto the road.
The whole accident happened within a few seconds.
The incident reportedly happened at a busy Pandan Indah junction in Kuala Lumpur on Tuesday, 14 March.
A video recording of the incident was uploaded on Facebook and it immediately went viral on social media
In the video, other motorcyclists appeared to stop aside and immediately helped the man who looked like he was lying motionless on the ground.
Quite a number of netizens have raised doubts if the video is depicting a recent event, since the video footage shows a timestamp of 1 January 2013. However, the uploader has since provided clarification on the matter.
Ng Sin Ji explained to The Star Online that the date shown is the default date that the dashboard camera resets to whenever she switches off the device.
Ng, who witnessed the incident, said it was difficult to identify who should be held responsible for the accident
In an interview with The Star Online, Ng said that the traffic lights was about to turn red when the car allegedly raced to beat it while the motorcyclist made the turn just as the lights changed.
"It's hard to tell who is right or wrong as they both made a mistake by not following the traffic light," Ng was quoted as saying.
Meanwhile, it was reported that the motorcyclist involved did not suffer any serious injuries
A separate report from The Star Online revealed that the motorcyclist cheated death, and only suffered four broken teeth and minor injuries on the face.
According to Ampang Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Hamzah Elias, the police is still waiting to obtain more information on the incident as the motorcyclist is still being treated at Hospital Ampang.
He added that the driver of the white Perodua Alza involved in the accident had made a police report, but the police have yet to receive one from the motorcyclist.
