A kindergarten teacher in Vietnam was caught sitting on top of a five-year-old boy and physically abusing him

Lam Thi Bach Nga, the owner of Ti Bo Kindergarten, was caught on a security camera on 11 April hitting the child, holding him, and forcing him to eat oranges.

According to bodu365.cn, a Chinese news outlet, the boy was traumatised by the incident.

The video also depicted another disturbing incident where Nga pushed another boy into a corner of the classroom, slapped his face, and hit his head with a plastic object.

Nga allegedly had done so as a punishment for breaking a toy.

In response to the incident, local authorities have ordered the immediate suspension of Ti Bo Kindergarten’s operations.

The boy's mother, Thanh Hong, said although her son's physical health has stabilised, he remains traumatised and often cries in his sleep

"Seeing my kid being pressed down and beaten up, I felt very sad. I trembled all over when I saw the video clip," Thanh Hong said.

Thanh Hong revealed that prior to this incident, the kindergarten's management had assured parents that their children would not be subjected to physical punishment.

"The kindergarten's management once assured us that teachers here never beat kids. I had never expected that my child would be abused by his teacher," she lamented.

She has decided to keep her son at home until he recovers emotionally.

In response to the incident, local authorities have ordered the immediate suspension of Ti Bo Kindergarten’s operations

They have also advised parents to transfer their children to alternative nurseries.

"We will deal with the case seriously and will definitely not show any leniency," Lam Dinh Thang, a local government official, said.

Nga attempted to offer compensation to the family of the five-year-old boy, but an agreement was not reached. It remains unclear what specific punishment she will face.

Asking for help is not a sign of weakness.
