There's no doubt that the Olympics brings the world together — even if it means taking a break from your shopping or errands to watch a shared TV screen in public

Malaysia's women's doubles pair, Pearly Tan and Thinaah Muralitharan, just defeated South Korea's reigning bronze medallists, Kim So-yeong and Kong Hee-yong, in the quarterfinals today, 1 August.

This victory marks the first time a Malaysian women's doubles pair has advanced to the semifinals in the Olympics.

And although not everyone could watch the match, several passersby in 1 Utama Shopping Centre stopped what they were doing to watch the game together on a large TV screen displayed at an electrical supply store.
