The Samsung Buds3 Pro Makes On-The-Go Music Better In Every Aspect
Samsung's latest audio equipment makes for a great daily driver.
Samsung's wearables department has hit the ball out of the park with the new Buds3 Pro
Typically, audio wearables from major brands tend to focus on quality-of-life features such as in-ear detection and easy connection, while offering average audio quality. This approach is appreciated by users who seek audio equipment for their everyday use. However, the audio quality often leaves much much to be desired, leaving audio enthusiasts wanting for more.
Right out of the box, we were greeted with a sleek and compact casing with a transparent top
Samsung aced the presentation with the Buds3 Pro. The clean, white casing contrasts nicely with the pitch-black packaging, exuding an air of luxury and sophistication. Removing the case from the box was a smooth and satisfying experience.
Underneath the box lies another compartment, housing accessories such as the Type-C charging cable, extra eartips of different sizes, and some documents. The case is also capable of wireless charging.
The case felt great in our hands, although the smooth exterior may attract fingerprints or worse, scratches. We believe a simpler case can address these concerns.
Opening and closing the lid also felt premium with a satisfying snap.
Setting up the Buds3 Pro is straightforward
The Buds3 Pro can pair with both Android and iOS devices without much issue. The quick start guide included in the documentation guided us through the process.
With Samsung devices, the process is more streamlined. All you have to do is flip the lid open; once the device was detected, the Samsung device prompted us to connect the Buds3 Pro through a convenient connection wizard.
The Buds3 Pro excelled in the audio department
After pairing with our smartphone, we booted up Spotify and played different genres of music, ranging from phonk to orchestral pieces.
We were utterly pleased with the sound quality, which challenges even the best true wireless systems on the market. The clear and crisp treble offered a natural-sounding soundstage complemented by thick and rich bass.
Samsung tuned the drivers to be slightly bass-oriented, but this can be adjusted with your equaliser of choice. Listening to The Box by Roddy Rich demonstrated its beautiful bass, while tunes like Coldplay's Viva la Vida highlighted its clear treble. The best part is that Samsung managed to amalgamate all these elements into a truly enjoyable aural experience.
The adaptive noise cancelling (ANC) also works wonders, eliminating almost all ambient noise. We tried the Buds3 Pro in an office setting and it kept all the keyboard clatter and colleague chatter to almost zero. Also, the ANC feature cuts off if it detects emergency sounds such as alarms or sirens to keep you safe.
Comfort is critical with earbuds, and the Buds3 Pro provides a snug fit
We wore the earbuds for extended periods and found them highly comfortable without irritating our ear canals. Samsung also provided different-sized tips to ensure an optimum seal.
The battery life is also commendable, lasting six hours of listening time and up to 26 hours with the charging case. If you misplace either earbud, Samsung Find can help you locate them.
Aside from that, the touch controls are simply sublime. The pinch sensor is responsive but does not activate if accidentally touched. Also, the touch-sensitive slider is a neat feature to control your volume output, putting the Buds3 Pro in a class of its own.
The Buds3 Pro is now open for pre-order in Malaysia
The Buds3 Pro comes in two colours: white and silver, with the silver version offering a smoky lid instead of a fully transparent lid. It is currently priced at RM999, or RM27.75 per month on Samsung's official website.
