Delta is coming to your iPad soon, turning it into a gigantic Nintendo DS!
The recent release of the Delta emulator took the Apple App Store by storm, quickly becoming the most popular free app and maintaining the position.
Developer Riley Testut has announced that an iPad-specific edition is nearly complete and will be launched alongside Delta version 1.6 for other devices. Testut mentioned that the app is currently available to his Patreon backers via the AltStore, an alternative marketplace tailored for the European market.
While the current version of Delta already works on the iPad, the upcoming native version may come with better support
An iPad-native version would optimise the Delta emulator to utilise the entire screen space more effectively, enabling enhanced skins, such as one that transforms the tablet into a larger Nintendo DS Lite. The upcoming version is also expected to support iPad Split View functionality.
Testut also plans to introduce device-to-device multiplayer to the app, enhancing the existing multiplayer feature. This will allow people to play across multiple devices through Internet connectivity, a highly anticipated and appreciated enhancement.
Aside from the iPad update, Testut mentioned on Threads that he is working on a Sega Genesis emulator as well
