HUAWEI is making a bold play to solidify its Harmony operating system, aiming to add 100,000 applications within the next year
According to Reuters, this push comes as the Chinese tech giant continues to navigate US sanctions that have cut it off from Google's Android ecosystem.
Since launching Harmony in 2019, HUAWEI has steadily built a foundation, boasting over 15,000 apps to meet basic consumer needs.
However, the company acknowledges that its ecosystem still lacks the diverse, tailored offerings consumers expect.

"For any operation system, no matter how advanced it is, it would be of no value if no one uses it," Xu said, appealing to developers, social organisations, government agencies, and state-owned enterprises to back the system.
