Instagram Finally Has A Dark Mode To Match Your Soul
No more eye-numbing scrolling at night.
If you've been asking for a dark mode on Instagram for months now, then today is a day to celebrate
The new dark mode on Instagram was announced earlier today, 8 October, by Instagram head Adam Mosseri.
To utilise the new dark mode, you'll need to install the latest Instagram update
You'll also need to be using iOS 13 or Android 10.
Unfortunately, there is no option to individually set Instagram in dark mode - it follows your phone's theme, so you'll have to turn on your phone's in-built dark mode within it's 'Settings'.
Meanwhile, Mosseri also announced that the platform will be removing the 'Following' activity tab
"Today we're removing the 'Following' tab on Instagram, which was created to help people discover new posts and accounts their friends engage with," he wrote in a tweet.
"We're always trying to stay focused and keep Instagram simple."
BuzzFeed News reported that the 'heart' tab will now only show the user's activity. Goodbye, Instagram stalkers.
