Spotify Reduces Number Of Members On Its Premium Family Plan From 6 To 4

The price of the subscription plan remains at RM24.90 per month.

Spotify has reduced the number of accounts allowed on its Premium Family plan from six to four members, with the price of the subscription plan remaining at RM24.90 per month

The change in account limit has reflected on Spotify Malaysia's official website

The update, however, has yet to be announced on the music streaming service's social media channels, nor have subscribers been notified about when the change will be implemented.

For those who'd like to keep six members in their plan, Spotify introduced the option to add two more slots for an additional RM15.80

This brings the total cost for a six-people Premium Family plan to RM40.70 per month.

According to TechNave, the new Family Plan prices are only being applied to Malaysia and Indonesia. Neighbouring countries such as Singapore, the Philippines, and Brunei have retained the account limit and prices for their Family Plans.

Here's the current pricing for all Spotify Premium plans in Malaysia:

  • Mini: MYR3.20 per week for one mobile-only Premium account
  • Premium Individual: MYR15.90 per month
  • Premium Student: MYR8.50 per month
  • Premium Family: MYR24.90 per month for up to four Premium accounts
  • Premium Duo: MYR21.50 per month for two Premium accounts
