The Road Transport Department (JPJ) has announced a 50% discount on three summonses starting tomorrow, 3 January, until 30 June

According to the New Straits Times, Transport Minister Anthony Loke said a flat rate of RM150 will apply to the following types of summonses:

AwAS Summons (Summons 53A): For speeding violations or running red lights captured by the AwAS camera system
Notice 114: Investigation interview notice
Notice 115: Affixed summons notice

"All three notices carry a rate of RM300, but we are offering a special compound rate starting tomorrow for six months to settle them.

"We have provided this rate so that those who have not paid their outstanding compounds can settle them immediately.

"If they don't pay, they won't be able to renew their licences," Loke said.

Those who wish to settle their fines can do so online via JPJ's website or app

Loke said the JPJ app now features a new option allowing users to settle their summonses.

Payments can also be made at JPJ's offices, kiosks, and mobile counters.

However, payments made via the MyEG platform are not eligible for the 50% discount, FMT quoted the minister as saying.

This initiative comes after JPJ recorded two million outstanding summonses since 2018.
