Every October, McDonald's Malaysia joins hands with Ronald McDonald's House Charities (RMHC) to organise Community Month, which is part of their initiative to give back to the community

The programme was established in 2017 with the aim of hosting a variety of engaging and enjoyable activities for underprivileged children nationwide.

Recently, a launch ceremony for the 2023 Community Month took place at McDonald's Pantai Sentral Park Drive-Thru, where 40 children from Rumah Kanak-Kanak Trinity and Rumah Hope joined in the festivities.

Throughout October, McDonald's Malaysia will be organising birthday celebrations for a total of 12,000 orphans hailing from 400 orphanages across McDonald's outlets nationwide.

This week, they decided to bring a surprise celebration to Yayasan An-Nur Maisarah in Chemor, Perak!

The McDonald's staff dedicated the night before to prepare and set up vibrant game booths, colourful decorations, and a stage to create an electrifying atmosphere at the venue.

Principal of Yayasan An-Nur Maisarah, Fazillah Nordin, who is also referred to as 'Ibu' by the children, expressed her heartfelt gratitude to McDonald's Malaysia for choosing their children's home as part of the Community Month Program.

"This is the first time we have collaborated with McDonald's to celebrate a birthday party on such a grand scale. The excitement is clearly felt with the presence of huge birthday cakes, colourful decorations, and interesting game booths arranged for the children.

"The 'Back To School Pack' will definitely encourage the children's enthusiasm for school with their new supplies. The radiant smiles and excitement on the children's faces speak volumes, and I have McDonald's Malaysia to thank for that."

The celebration was also joined by famous Malaysian actress, host, and Hot FM DJ, Fara Fauzana, alongside a group of Malaysian influencers. They spent the entire day accompanying and playing with the children in various activities.

To add to the fun, they all joined in singing and dancing to The Chicken Dance song, as well as a birthday celebration with three massive Red Velvet cakes, which the kids relished.

Delicious food and beverages were also thoughtfully prepared before the arrival of McDonald's Happy Meal for the children. They got to enjoy McDonald's Double Cheese Burger, fries, and Chicken McNuggets, before ending the meal with the scrumptious Apple Pie as dessert.

Each child at Yayasan An-Nur Maisarah was given a set of goodie bags and a 'Back To School Pack', which consisted of a school bag, stationeries, and other school supplies

You could definitely tell that the children were super happy with their gifts, as they received the goodie bags with wide smiles and eagerly rummaged in their school bag to see what they received.
