Local Gula Apong Ice Cream Chain Hits The Streets Of Istanbul
Mokti's Turkiye is the chain's first international branch.
Starting off as a small shop in Perlis to having multiple branches nationwide, Mokti's Gula Apong Ice Cream has now broken international borders
Mokti's Gula Apong Ice Cream announced the opening of its Turkiye branch via Facebook and Instagram on 21 February. According to the post on Instagram, the ice cream chain has been preparing for months since last year, and finally opened its doors to welcome customers earlier this week.
Mokti's Turkiye is the chain's first international branch since its launch in 2019. The branch welcomed Turkish locals and tourists from Malaysia who miss a taste of home, as well as from all over to enjoy the unique gula apong-based menu they have to offer.
Mokti's Gula Apong Ice Cream has over 69 menu items, with bestsellers Apong Asli Honeycomb ice cream and the Machiapong Special Blends series
The ice cream chain offers artisanal gelato, coffee, breakfast meals, cakes, and of course, gula apong ice cream at their Istanbul branch.
Mokti's ice cream uses 95% gula apong imported from Sarawak and 5% milk in order to maintain the unique taste of the Sarawakian delicacy. The ice cream products also do not use white sugar or vanilla extract.
Mokti's Turkiye also serves durian artisanal gelato, possibly the first of its kind in the country. How Malaysian can you get?
