The Sabah Fire and Rescue Department was called to a house in Kota Kinabalu on Tuesday, 31 January, to help an anxious toddler who got her right arm stuck in a speaker at home

According to Sabah Media, the response team received an emergency call regarding the incident at 3.41pm.

An eight-member team was dispatched to Taman Kinamount, Lorong Pelanduk, to assist the child.

The Fire and Rescue Department's assistant director of operations, Misran Bisara, said it was the child's mother that had alerted them for help

When they arrived at the home, they saw that the three-year-old child was crying and had her whole arm stuck inside the audio system.

"The fire and rescue team managed to pull out the victim's hand from the speaker using a special tool," Misran said in a statement on Wednesday, 1 February.

According to New Straits Times, the rescue operation took them 20 minutes.

The rescue team added that the victim was given initial treatment by their Emergency Medical and Rescue Services

She did not need further treatment at a hospital.

It was also learnt that the speaker was still usable after the incident, reported The Star.
