Husband & Wife Who Were Caught Abusing Their Foster Child Plead Guilty In Court
The couple faces a jail sentence of up to 20 years, a fine of RM50,000, or both, under Section 31(1)(a) of the Child Act 2001.

A local woman and her Singaporean husband, who were caught abusing a four-year-old Indonesian child last week, pleaded guilty in court today, 27 July
Charged under Section 31(1)(a) of the Child Act 2001, the couple faces a jail sentence of up to 20 years in jail, a fine of RM50,000, or both, if convicted.
They pleaded guilty before judge Effandi Nazila Abdullah after the charge was read to them at Bandar Baru Bangi sessions court, according to Free Malaysia Today.
The couple was arrested on Friday, 22 July, after a young man lodged a report of them abusing their foster child in Beranang, Selangor
According to the police, the child was forced to swallow rice that she refused to eat causing her to vomit.
The investigation also found that the couple used broomsticks, hangers, and lighters to abuse the child.
Videos of the abuse have been circulating online, resulting in the hashtag #JusticeForAlia trending on Twitter.
