An international crime index has ranked Klang as safer than Kuala Lumpur
According to the Crime Index 2025 by Numbeo, a Serbian crowd-sourced online database, Kuala Lumpur has a crime index of 60.5, while Klang has 54.8.
As a result, Kuala Lumpur ranks 313th globally, whereas Klang is considered safer at 275th.
Meanwhile, Penang ranks 77th on the index, making it the safest 'city' in the country, while Johor Bahru trails behind at 226th
Singapore ranks 24th on the index, while the top three spots go to Abu Dhabi, Doha, and Taipei.
