A husband and his mistress have been charged in connection with the alleged murder of the man's wife, who was found dead in her car last month

According to China Press, Heng Tang Lee, 48, and C Susila, 45, were charged in the Johor Bahru Magistrate's Court yesterday, 22 January, under Section 302 of the Penal Code, which was read together with Section 109 of the same act, for murder and abutment, respectively.

They are accused of orchestrating the death of 42-year-old Tian Hau Khee, Heng's wife, who was found dead in a Perodua Alza parked outside a Hindu temple in Skudai, Johor in the early hours of 1 December 2024.

It is believed that the other defendant, Soo Siau Soon, 31, carried out the murder. He also appeared in court and was charged with murder under Section 302 of the Penal Code yesterday.

The charge was read to him in Mandarin before Magistrate Hidayatul Syuhada Shamsudin.

In addition to the murder charge, Heng faces further accusations

The 48-year-old was charged under Section 201 of the Penal Code for disposing a scissor blade, a piece of evidence related to the crime, into a swamp near Taman Tampoi Utama at around 3.40pm on 15 January.

He was also charged under Section 8(a) of the Firearms Act 1960 for unlawful possession of a firearm.

Heng pleaded not guilty to both charges and protested his innocence in court, shouting, "The gun is not mine."

None of the three accused had legal representation, and their cases have been scheduled for mention in March with separate dates for the courts handling the different charges.

Earlier, when the court interpreter asked Susila whether she wanted the charges to be read out in Tamil or Mandarin, she responded in Mandarin, requesting that the charges be read out in Mandarin.

China Press reported that the three accused did not avoid being photographed by reporters while being escorted into the Johor Bahru Magistrate's Court.
