A customer has expressed discontent after being charged RM2 for a glass of plain water at a well-known restaurant in Skudai, Johor Bahru

According to a post in a Facebook community group '吃的平台', Adrian Low noted that the restaurant's menu prices had changed, with a glass of water now costing RM2 without a refill.

The receipt showed he had ordered a Hainanese chicken and crispy pork rice meal, along with two glasses of filtered water.

The two cold filtered waters added RM4 to his total bill of RM26.45.

Netizens have voiced their opinions, with many agreeing that the price is excessively high

"What a rip-off, even more expensive than Singapore... RM2 for a glass of water... You should file a complaint with the government," a user commented.

"Having chicken rice with a 16% tax, and filtered water at RM2," another stated.

"I can't afford to eat here anymore; the prices keep getting higher," another remarked.

SAYS has reached out to the restaurant for a comment but has yet to receive a reply.

Here are some instances when customers were surprised by the cost of their meal after receiving the bill:
