Malaysia Records Highest Number Of Recoveries To Date At 350 Discharged Patients Today

Selangor reported 76 new COVID-19 cases, while Kuala Lumpur reported 10 new cases.

Malaysia recorded 660 new COVID-19 cases today, 13 October, the second-highest spike since the pandemic began

Despite almost two weeks of three-figure daily cases, Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said today marks the highest number of recovered cases with 350 individuals discharged from hospitals.

"This is the highest figure (of recovery cases in a single day) since the pandemic hit Malaysia," he said during the daily press conference, streamed from his home.

However, the country reported four deaths in the past 24 hours, aged 84, 83, 36, and 59 respectively.

This brings the total death count to 163 — or 0.97% of the total cumulative case.

Here is a breakdown of all the cases today by state:

Meanwhile, it is worth noting that there are 5,345 current active cases — or 31.7% of the total case

101 individuals are currently fighting for their lives in intensive care units (ICUs), while 32 individuals require ventilators.

The country reported six new clusters as well, four of which are in Sabah:
- Bah Kenangan Cluster, Selangor: one case
- Penjara Jawi Cluster, Penang: three cases
- Semarak Cluster, Sabah: 13 cases
- Bina Cluster, Sabah: 10 cases
- Sabindo Cluster, Sabah: four cases
- Bestari Cluster, Sabah: two cases
