Low-cost carrier MYAirline has announced a suspension of its operations effective today, 12 October, until further notice

In a statement this morning, the airline said it has made the painful decision due to significant financial pressures, and its suspension is pending shareholder restructuring and recapitalisation of the airline.

The MYAirline Board of Directors said it deeply regrets and apologises for the suspension as it will impact its passengers, employees, and partners.

"We have worked tirelessly to explore various partnerships and capital-raising options to prevent this suspension. Unfortunately, the constraints of time have left us with no alternative but to take this decision," it said.

Passengers affected by the suspension have been advised to seek alternative travel arrangements to their destinations

The airline has also asked passengers not to head to airports and to instead reach out to its customer care via email for assistance.

Meanwhile, MYAirline assured that they will be working tirelessly to resume operations as quickly as possible but, at this stage, are unable to commit to a timeline.

The budget airline's chief executive officer (CEO), Rayner Teo, announced his resignation on Monday, 9 October, citing health reasons

According to New Straits Times, the airline's statement this morning confirmed previous business reports that MYAirline is financially struggling.

MYAirline had seen a number of its top executives, including its chief financial officer and chief commercial officer, also leaving less than one year into operations.
