Nearly RM265,000 In Cash Stolen From Indonesian Badminton Team In Paris

The Indonesian Olympics badminton team lost nearly one billion rupiah in cash in Paris on Monday, 5 August

According to CNN Indonesia, the team's manager, Armand Darmadji, had his bag containing 950 million rupiah (about RM265,000), credit cards, and passports stolen on Monday afternoon.

The cash was the team's allowance, allocated for their stay throughout the Olympic Games in Paris.

It is said that Darmadji was sitting in the team's rental car with another colleague, Puspa Irawati, when an individual suddenly approached them to inform them of their car's flat tyre.

Darmadji got out of the car to check the tyre, while Irawati went to a nearby store to buy necessities for the team.

After contacting the car rental service to report the issue, Darmadji returned to his seat and found his bag missing.

The team manager has reported the incident to the local police and the Indonesian Embassy in Paris

Despite the incident, ANTARA News reported that the Indonesian badminton team is returning home as scheduled today, 7 August.
