A 26-year-old part-time photographer died yesterday, 12 March, after his girlfriend allegedly stabbed him in Kota Kemuning, Selangor

According to Kuala Langat district police chief Supt Ahmad Ridhwan Mohd Nor, Cyberjaya Hospital informed the police that a male patient had been admitted in an unconscious state yesterday morning.

Bernama reported that the victim was first taken to a private clinic by his girlfriend, also 26.

At Cyberjaya Hospital, medical personnel attempted to resuscitate the 26-year-old patient for almost half an hour but were unable to revive him, according to the New Straits Times.

"The victim was pronounced dead at 7.25am, 12 March, with stab wounds to the left wrist and leg," stated Ahmad Ridhwan, adding, "The wounds are believed to be inflicted by a knife."

An investigation led to the suspect, who is a former medical student and works as a part-time model, being arrested at the hospital

"Initial investigations suggest a potential motive of jealousy," said Ahmad Ridhwan.

He emphasised that this is a preliminary finding based on early investigation, while adding that the suspect is currently under remand for six days to facilitate investigations under Section 302 of the Penal Code.

Both the victim and the suspect are Malaysians and have been dating for three years. The victim has been identified as Gawsigan Vicneswaran, who has been credited as a film director cum cinematographer.

SAYS is not publishing the suspect's name as it has not yet been released by the authorities.

Meanwhile, SAYS is in possession of some of the disturbing footage of the alleged stabbing that has been circulating online

In the footage, the victim is seen on the floor of what appears to be a condominium unit while the suspect is seen talking to a guy, who — holding a phone to record — asks the woman what she has done.

In another clip, the woman is seen trying to tie a piece of cloth around the victim's thigh while saying that the blood won't stop. The victim, lodged between the bed and the wall cupboard, groans in pain.

SAYS has chosen not to share the footage here due to its extremely graphic nature.

Additionally, unverified information regarding the victim has been circulating online.

However, these claims are yet to be confirmed by authorities, who have urged anyone with information about the case to contact the Kuala Langat district police headquarters operations room at 03-31872222.

The victim, Gawsigan Vicneswaran.
