Restaurants Turn To Delivery Services Following Restricted Movement Order
Grab and dahmakan announced that their food delivery services are not hindered by the restricted movement order.

After Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin announced a two-week restricted movement order on Malaysia, many restaurants have started offering delivery services
According to StoreHub, a company that offers operating systems to F&B and retail businesses, there has been a sharp 10% increase in demand for introducing delivery services in restaurants overnight following Muhyiddin's announcement yesterday, 16 March.
The company cited the effects of the COVID-19 to the decrease of foot traffic to restaurants lately and led to a 45% spike in food delivery demands.
The surge came about due to a lack of clarification on whether restaurants could carry on with their business during the restricted movement order
It was only this afternoon newly-minted Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Minister Alexander Nanta Linggi said that restaurants can only offer delivery and take-out services, but no dining in, reported Malaysiakini.
As restaurant owners were in the dark for the whole day, a quick search on Facebook found that over a dozen of restaurants have already resorted to announcing delivery services hours after Muhyiddin's announcement.
Among them are myBurgerLab, who said that they will only allow takeaway and delivery during this period
In a Facebook post, the burger joint said business is as usual today, 17 March, and they will restrict dine-in customers once the order begins.
Cureé, a cafe on Jalan Imbi, Kuala Lumpur, also took to Facebook to announce a similar move.
"Following what our PM has ordered, 19 March onwards we remain operational, but only will allow take-out, pick-up, and delivery service. Floor will not be opened for dining in, we thank you for your understanding," wrote the restaurant, adding that delivery orders can be made on their website.

It is very likely that restaurants near you have introduced delivery services too.
Furthermore, Grab and dahmakan also announced that all of their services will be as usual in the coming two-week restricted movement order
The company said that its food delivery, online grocery, as well as its e-hailing services are not affected by the COVID-19 preventive measures.
dahmakan tweeted the same at 12.40am yesterday too.
