A man in Thailand searching for his missing wife was shocked to find her dead body alongside another man in a car parked on a road in the south-central province of Chachoengsao yesterday, 17 February

According to Thai portal The Thaiger, officers from the Mueang Chachoengsao police station were called to the scene near Mueang district to investigate a suspicious white Isuzu MU-X SUV at around 9am on Monday.

A pedestrian had noticed a gunshot hole in the left passenger seat window and alerted the police.

Officers found the lifeless bodies of a 33-year-old Thai man, identified as Chatchai Hongcharoen, and a 26-year-old Thai woman, Natticha, reported the news portal.

Chatchai, a member of the Plaeng Yao Sub-district Municipality Council, was found dead in the driver's seat with a gunshot wound to his right temple. He was still holding a 9mm Sig Sauer handgun.

Meanwhile, Natticha, in the passenger seat, had a gunshot wound to her right temple.

The woman was reported missing by her husband on 16 February

The husband, Thitiwat, aged 23, told ThaiRath that his wife left home in her SUV on the morning of 16 February and never returned. He was unable to contact her and grew increasingly concerned.

According to a video posted online, Thitiwat was seen at the scene where his wife's body was found. He broke down in tears, and a friend had to escort him away to allow police to continue their investigation.

While investigations are ongoing to confirm the motive behind the incident, police suspect Chatchai of committing a murder-suicide, with jealousy and adultery believed to be the primary motives.

Channel 7HD reported that Chatchai had arranged a meeting with Natticha to discuss their relationship but was unable to resolve their issues and shot her dead before killing himself.
