[VIDEO] Woman Throws Drink At Delivery Rider & Security Guard For Not Sending Up Her Order
"Other countries, including China, can [deliver to the doorstep], why is Malaysia so terrible?" she said.
A security company managing director has commended an employee and a food delivery rider for sticking to protocol despite dealing with a difficult apartment resident
M-Forces Security managing director and Facebook user Michael Cheang shared about the encounter on his personal account on Saturday, 27 November.
He wrote that he received the video from an unnamed source and would like to explain the situation behind the short 21-second clip of a woman shockingly throwing a drink at a security guard and a delivery rider before storming off.
Cheang said that the woman, who is from China, ordered milk tea to the apartment in Kuala Lumpur around 8pm that night
She ordered for the drink to be sent right to her unit.
However, when the delivery rider arrived, the security guard on duty stopped him and told him that he could not go upstairs to deliver it due to COVID-19 standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Calling the customer to tell her that he could not fulfill her request, the delivery rider was suddenly met with the woman's berating.
"Other countries, including China, can [deliver to the doorstep], why is Malaysia so terrible?" she said.
Cheang said the woman, too, accused his company's security guards of not being competent.
In the video Cheang shared, the woman in a white shirt and dark-coloured bucket hat can be seen deliberately splashing her drink at both the security guard and delivery rider before showing them a finger and walking away at an apartment lobby.
The security guard and delivery rider did not respond and only watched as she stormed back indoors.
After learning about the horrible incident, the managing director praised his staff and the deliver rider for handling the issue well
"In the face of such a hot-tempered and angry resident, they showed professionalism and calmly dealt with the issue, sticking to their duties and responsiblities. I am proud of them!" Cheang wrote.
He also reminded everyone to be kind to all frontliners.
The video went viral with netizens getting angered by the women's rude behaviour and praised the two men for staying composed
"If she does not accept Malaysia's SOPs, she should just go back to China and follow their SOPs there. Too disrespectful!" said a Facebook user.
Another said, "If they couldn't go up, you should come down to get [the order]! Do people need to feed you too? You're that lazy? You should just make your own food."
A few others also encouraged Cheang to stand up for his employee by reporting the woman to the authorities for assault.
It is unsure if a report has been made against the woman.
