4 Apple Intelligence Features We're Excited To Try Out
Apple Intelligence will be made available with the iOS 18 update later this year.

Apple has finally announced its new artificial intelligence (AI) technology, and as speculated, it's called Apple Intelligence
Apple Intelligence was revealed during the tech giant's 2024 Worldwide Developers' Conference (WWDC) on 10 June (11 June for us Malaysians).
Touted as the smart helper that learns about you to provide better answers, it will be made available for the latest iPhones, iPads, and Macs once iOS 18 is rolled out sometime between September and December.
Unfortunately, iOS devices without the M1 chip won't be able to support the features available with Apple Intelligence. Looking at you, iPhone 14 users.
Apple Intelligence also integrates OpenAI's ChatGPT into Siri and its other features. Speaking of features, here are the ones we're most excited about.
1. Writing Tools
Writing articles, blogs, academic papers and responding to emails and messages is set to become a lot faster, easier, and more convenient for Apple users.
Thanks to Apple Intelligence, you'll be able to paraphrase your sentences with the new "Rewrite" feature, which suggests improvements to your paragraphs. Meanwhile, the "Proofread" feature keeps an eye out for spelling and grammatical errors.
Apple users also have the option to adjust their writing according to a specific tone they prefer, based on the three options available: Friendly, professional, and concise.
What's exciting about Apple Intelligence is its ability to provide a quick summary of emails in a TLDR format, or as a table and a list. It's up to you!
Oh, you can also ask Apple Intelligence to reply to an email with a poem, if that's what you fancy.
2. Genmoji
If you love emojis and have been struggling to find the perfect one that best describes your thoughts and feelings, then Apple's Genmoji is your solution.
Powered by its Image Playground feature, simply describe an emoji you need and Genmoji will create it for you quickly. You can be as descriptive as you want and you can also turn a friend's image into a Genmoji.
These AI-generated images can be used in emails, messages, and other Genmoji-friendly apps.
Genmoji will be made available for Messages and apps once iOS 18 is rolled out later this year.
3. Siri
Released in 2011, Siri is now receiving the long-awaited glow-up that everyone has been expecting.
The Apple Intelligence-powered Siri is designed to become an even more reliable AI-powered personal assistant. For starters, the upgraded Siri will feature an elegant glowing light around the edges of your device's screen when you speak to it.
You'll also be able to speak to Siri a lot more naturally, with Apple's virtual assistant capable of understanding context and even remember previous conversations. In short, it's okay if you stumble over words because Siri will still be able to understand you.
This is because the upgraded Siri is built around you, thanks to Apple Intelligence's Personal Context feature. What this means is that you'll soon be able to use Siri to cross-reference your photos, calendar events, messages, and other apps to give you up-to-date information related to them.
You can also cross-reference Siri in the event you forget certain information like a dinner plan, meeting schedule, or an email or message. The virtual assistant will be able to quickly provide you with the latest, accurate information upon prompting it. This will help save you lots of time.
Apple users will also have the option to type to Siri instead of speaking to it directly, making it convenient in meetings or in crowded spaces.
4. Priority Notifications
With Apple Intelligence, your notifications will now be reordered based on priority.
Powered by Apple Intelligence's Personal Context, messages, emails, or alerts that are most important to you will be displayed at the top of the notification stack.
This will help you quickly decide which notification to respond to immediately and which ones you can respond to later.
Apple Intelligence is built for the privacy-minded in mind
Throughout the WWDC 2024 showcase, the word "privacy" is repeated several times alongside "personal context".
Apple envisions its AI features to be safe, secure and convenient while boosting productivity.
The tech giant promises that Apple users' data will never be stored or made public. This is because Apple Intelligence will run on "private cloud compute". Apple says this marks "a brand new standard for privacy and AI".
