Apple May Reveal Its Own AI Called 'Apple Intelligence' At WWDC 2024
Apple is the only tech giant that hasn't showed off its AI features yet.
Apple is set to announce a slew of artificial intelligence (AI) features for its iOS devices at the upcoming Apple's 2024 Worldwide Developers' Conference (WWDC)
The WWDC is an annual conference held by the tech giant in the US. This year's WWDC will be held from 10 to 14 June (11 to 15 June for us Malaysians).
Over the years, the conference has become a go-to for Apple to reveal, introduce, and showcase its new software, technologies, and products to tech enthusiasts.
This year, many expect Apple to introduce its own AI features after competitors such as Google, Microsoft, Meta, Amazon, and OpenAI have already had a head start in the AI game.
Apple's general suite of AI features is expected to be named Apple Intelligence
In case you haven't figured it out already, it's a wordplay on the AI acronym.
According to Bloomberg, the AI features will be made available for the latest iPhones, iPads, and Macs.
This means any iOS devices that don't have the M1 chip built in won't be able to enjoy the AI features. Sorry, iPhone 14 users.
With Apple's primary focus being user privacy, the AI features will be made available as an opt-in
The AI features will also be labelled as a beta test.
Bloomberg's Apple insider Mark Gurman said that the features will be accessible via cloud processing and on-device processing.
Expect AI features that give your productivity a boost such as voice transcription, AI-powered website summaries for Safari, and AI-assisted photo editing functions.
