According to a video by X user @trndkw__, reposted by @kuwaitinside on Instagram, these "trendy sandals" are being sold for 4,590 riyals (RM5,500) at a store.

The video shows the salesperson wearing gloves, similar to those used in luxury stores, as they retrieve the blue and white footwear from a glass display.

The staff then shows the detailing of the slipper's back and front before bending it to reveal its sturdiness

The video, which has since garnered thousands of views, left netizens confused and amused

While some likened the footwear to those worn to use in toilets, others shared that their parents would whip one out when they were being naughty as kids.

Several viewers also wondered if the video was just a joke or satire.

Luxury items in the past have resembled common household items

Brands such as Balenciaga previously sold a bag similar to IKEA's blue bag for RM9,000, and Prada once sold a paperclip for RM800.

Even Gucci once sold dirty-looking sneakers for a few thousand ringgit.

What do you think? Could the video be real?
