A new tourist attraction has just opened in Langkawi offering breathtaking views of the island

Perched atop Gunung Machinchang at 645 metres above sea level, the Eagle's Nest SkyWalk is the world's longest free-standing glass sky deck.

Spanning 38 metres, the platform, which officially opened on 10 March, offers sprawling views of the island's landscape and the Andaman Sea in all its glory.

The Eagle's Nest SkyWalk boasts a transparent glass platform capable of accommodating up to 300 visitors at a time

Taking inspiration from Langkawi's iconic eagle, its design features a large eagle head and nest with eggs, symbolising freedom and achievement.

The project was initiated in 2019, but faced some setbacks including a delay due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

It was built to boost Langkawi's tourism and offer an interactive experience that gives visitors the thrill of standing over the world's longest cantilever bridge.

To get to the sky deck, you'll have to take a cable car ride to reach the top

For an added thrill, you can opt for the glass-bottom floor gondola for your cable car ride; it'll take you along what is considered to be one of the steepest slopes in the world.

The 15-minute ride hovers over lush green rainforest, offering breathtaking views of the Machinchang mountain range.
