A brave dog fought off two machete-wielding robbers to protect its owner's property at a car repair shop in Sungai Petani, Kedah last month

The incident occurred on 23 February when the robbers arrived on a motorcycle and stormed into the shop in Taman Sejati Indah, reported Guang Ming Daily.

The dog started barking at the robbers and caught the attention of a nearby fruit stall vendor.

The vendor witnessed the courageous canine standing its ground against the robbers. Despite being attacked with machetes, the dog refused to back down, eventually forcing the robbers to flee.

The dog suffered a deep head wound and was bleeding profusely.

The shop owner, along with members of an animal shelter, rushed the injured dog to a veterinary clinic

The dog recovered after a week of intensive treatment and has now reunited with its owner.

China Press reported that the shelter covered the dog's medical expenses, which amounted to over RM2,000.

"The dog sacrificed to protect its owner's property, which deeply touched people's hearts. I hope members of the public will cherish the lives of dogs more and do their best to help stray dogs," said the shelter's secretary.
