Civil Servant Found Dead In Putrajaya Treasury Office With Neck & Legs Bound By Cable Ties

The police urged the public not to speculate on the case.

A 45-year-old man was found dead in an office at the Treasury building in Putrajaya yesterday, 5 March

Kuala Lumpur police chief Datuk Seri Rusdi Mohd Isa said the man, a customs tribunal officer, was found lying unconscious on the floor by a member of the public, reported the New Straits Times.

A distress call was received at 10.56am, and a team of police officers was dispatched to the scene.

Preliminary investigations found the deceased lying on the office floor with cable ties around his neck and legs.

The police obtained the CCTV footage showing the deceased's movements before his death

"No criminal elements were found at the scene. The case has been classified as a sudden death report," Rusdi said.

He advised the public against speculating about the case, reported Malay Mail.

Separately, the Finance Ministry (MOF) confirmed the death and notified the deceased's family about the incident.

"MOF expresses its condolences regarding this incident and extends its sympathy to the family of the deceased," it said in a statement.
