Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim's Instagram account has seen a surge in engagement during his official visit to South Korea, thanks to the song selections for the posts

Anwar's first Instagram post in South Korea is a carousel post depicting his arrival in the Republic nation on Monday, 24 November.

The post, which does not have music attached to it, garnered 11,2000 likes.

The next post, which uses popular BTS song Dynamite and features photos of Anwar being welcomed by South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol, quickly garnered 18,600 likes.

Following that, a post featuring ZICO's Any Song attracted 20,100 likes.

Two additional posts, with Gee by Girls' Generation (SNSD) and Sorry, Sorry by SUPER JUNIOR attached to them, garnered a staggering 28,000 and 26,200 likes, respectively.

Other songs featured on Anwar's Instagram page include G-Dragon's POWER, 2NE1's Come Back Home, and CNBLUE's Love.

Netizens are thrilled by the song selections, with some noting that the admin of Anwar's Instagram account is believed to be a second-generation K-pop fan

The second generation of K-pop, also known as the Golden Age, was between the mid-2000s and the early 2010s.

"My guess is Anwar's Instagram admin is a Gen 2 K-pop fan. [They must be a fan of] SUPER JUNIOR, BIGBANG, MBLAQ, and SNSD," read a top comment, while another added, "Anwar's Instagram admin [is going crazy] with K-pop songs from the second generation."

"This has become a space to request songs," an Instagram user said in jest, while another lectured jokingly, "What is this behaviour, dear admin?"

"Came here to read captions? No. Came here to listen to songs? Yes. SNSD!" a person remarked.
