Throughout the Movement Control Order (MCO), Malaysians have been up to all kinds of things to stay entertained at home

One thing we should all keep in mind is that though we're all staying at home, it's important to still stay active. Even if you don't have workout equipment at home, there are still lots of simple exercises you can do.

Rexona wants to encourage Malaysians to keep moving at home with their simple home exercises that can be easily replicated. Check them out here.

You could also win some cool prizes! More deets at the end of the story.

But first, here are 10 trending things Malaysians have been doing during the MCO:

1. Dalgona coffee completely took over social media

IT. WAS. EVERYWHEREEEEEE. It was impossible to open a social media platform and not see someone attempting to make their own cup of that glorious-looking dalgona coffee. Whipping up that topping is seriously an arm workout man, but it's so worth it in the end!

2. That Instragram drawing challenge we were all tagging each other in

There was a point during the early days of the MCO when you couldn't open your Instagram without getting a notification that someone tagged you in yet another drawing challenge. Draw a fruit lah, draw your face lah, draw an animal lah, everything also got.

3. TikTok is now everyone's new obsession

TikTok was pretty popular even before MCO, but there's no denying that it has now completely taken over our lives. Whether you're making TikToks yourself or just enjoying watching what everyone else has been coming up with, it's just so addictive!

Anyone else still got the song from the flying challenge stuck in their head? Also, we've been loving the #Don'tRush challenge!

4. Speaking of challenges, the T-Shirt Handstand challenge is the latest thing that everyone's trying

Wah, we really dunno how people are pulling this off. It looks so susah to do! You know a challenge has gone truly viral when even celebrities start taking part in it. Tom Holland, Jake Gyllenhal, Ellie Goulding, and Olly Murs are just some of the popular stars who have attempted this challenge which involves putting on a t-shirt while doing a handstand.

5. Not being able to go for a jog or to the gym hasn't stopped us from exercising

Who says you need fancy equipment to workout? You can totally do it from the comfort of your own home, with everyday household items. Plus, lots of gyms have been livestreaming their workout classes, which is a great way to get everyone working out at home.

People have also just been organising their own group workout sessions by getting on a video call and doing the same regime together. The best part is that you don't feel alone while exercising, since there's others doing it with you and motivating you to keep going.

Meanwhile, those who do prefer to workout alone have been turning to all the exercise videos out there. If you're looking for some new ones, check out these simple home exercises by Rexona.

Psst, don't forget to use deodorant before your workout so you don’t stink up the whole house! ;)

6. Everyone suddenly became Masterchefs, especially when it comes to baking

Bread, cakes, cookies, puddings - you name it, we've baked it. Malaysians have really been baking up a storm throughout the MCO, and have also been coming up with creative ways to use leftover ingredients. Banana cake seems to be a particularly popular dish that everyone's been making, yummms!

7. And we're also learning how to recreate popular foods that we miss

When those cravings hit, we can no longer just head out to satisfy them. But on the plus side, many of us have been learning how to make them ourselves.

From recreating Rotiboy to whipping up a simple three-ingredient crème brûlée, lots of people have been sharing their homemade recipes online. Brands like Doubletree by Hilton and IKEA have even released recipes for their much-loved cookies and meatballs respectively.

8. But when our kitchen experiments fail, we post them up on Masak Ape Tak Jadi Hari Ni hahaha

This FB page is so popular that our PM even mentioned it in one of his recent speeches! Sometimes even the easiest of recipes can go hilariously wrong, and this group is where Malaysians have been sharing their epic failures.

From demonic looking cheese tarts and doughnuts, to cakes and karipaps that have been burnt beyond recognition, Masak Ape Tak Jadi Hari Ni has seen it all.

9. It's like everyone pakat to buy a Switch and start playing Animal Crossing lol

Those of us not playing probably feel really left out seeing everyone else post about how they're decorating their places, what animals they're catching, and trading codes. Some people are even dressing up their characters in baju raya or throwing surprise parties for birthdays, so cute!

10. Livestreams are now the new way we're all staying entertained

We can't go out to the cinema or watch a live performance, but with all the recent livestreams, we've been able to stay entertained at home with musicals, concerts, and more.

From the full 25th Anniversary edition of The Phantom of the Opera, to BTS' two-day BANGBANGCON, it's great that we're getting to experience shows that we otherwise may have never gotten to see.
