Louis Vuitton Releases RM10,000 Bags That Look Like... Paint Cans
The line is said to be inspired by the late artistic director of Louis Vuitton's menswear line, Virgil Abloh.
Just when you thought luxury fashion couldn't get any more outrageous, Louis Vuitton arrives with their latest design that practically paints the town red
First introduced as part of the Louis Vuitton Men's Fall/Winter 2022 runway show, the aptly named LV Paint Can Bag hit the scene on 12 August. The bag was meant to be part of Virgil Abloh's final Louis Vuitton Men's Collection line, after the fashion designer passed in November 2021 from cancer.
Described as a wildly creative alternative to a conventional bag, the fashion item was made in Abloh's vision of revisiting familiar objects in imaginative ways.
Available in six different colours (Purple, Red, Yellow, Green, Lagoon and Orange), the exterior of the bag has specific true-to-form details, including the emblazoning of "EXTERIOR PAINT" at the head of the bag, and a warning label for the wearer to 'handle with care'.
Made from coated canvas and cowhide leather trim, the microfibre lining complements the silver hardware of the single compartment bag. Furthermore, there are removable and adjustable straps should you not feel like carrying the accessory, literally, as a paint can.
Since its release on all social media platforms, the bags are now available at a staggering amount of GPB1,980 (approximately RM10,200) per bag.
While some have been praising the luxury brand for honouring Abloh's memory in a historic way, others are confused by the creative choices made
The comments fluctuated between one another, no single stream of comments were entirely positive or negative.
One commenter, however, praised Abloh for his unique creativity.
