In collaboration with famous tattoo artists Carlos Benny from Sabah and Ernesto Kalum from Sarawak, Carlsberg has come up with six artistically designed cans "By Locals, For Locals".

Both Carlos and Ernesto are seasoned tattoo artists well-known for their craft. But more importantly, what sets them apart is the pride they share for their heritage — they often take inspiration from the beauty of the land around them.

Together with Carlsberg, Carlos and Ernesto aim to 'Raikan Kebanggaan Sabah & Sarawak', by creating beautiful packaging designs, each featuring a unique icon such as the rafflesia, orangutan, longhouse, sape, hornbill, and Mount Kinabalu.

Continuing its theme of "By Locals, For Locals", Carlsberg has collaborated with RIPPLE, an NGO in Sabah, to set up a recycling ecosystem called Project CarlsBot

Committed to Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) initiatives, Carlsberg set up the project CarlsBot, a glass bottle recycling and community empowerment programme in Sabah.

The CarlsBot machine is an invention of a native Sabahan named Adrian Banie Lasimbang. This mean machine can crush 600kg of glass bottles in an hour!

The CarlsBot programme intends to help address the community's mounting issue of disposal, collection, and recycling of glass bottles, as well as to help generate income for the community. With this programme, recycled glass is repurposed by the local community and NGOs into arts and craft, homeware, and more.

Don't miss your chance to 'Raikan Kebanggaan Sabah & Sarawak' this festive season, and grab Carlsberg's artist-edition cans exclusively in Sabah and Sarawak while they're still in stock!

As a reminder, the legal drinking age in Malaysia is 21 years old. That means you need to be at least 21 and a non-Muslim in order to buy and consume alcohol. Remember to always #CelebrateResponsibly and in moderation. Do not drink and drive. If you plan to drink, try carpooling with a friend who isn't drinking or catch a cab instead of driving.
