IKEA Malaysia has introduced a series of plant-based options that are not only mouth-watering, but also come at an affordable price

In a press release made available to SAYS, the home furnishing retailer cum restaurant said the roll-out of these new menu items is in line with its efforts to make healthy and sustainable food more affordable and desirable to people.

Priced between RM4.90 and RM12.90, there are seven options to choose from, namely plant-based burger, plant-based schnitzel, plant-based fishless fingers, veggieballs tomato pasta, veggieball wrap, scrambled egg croissant with plant-based pieces, and salads.

All items are available every day from 11am onwards. Other than the plant-based burger — which is only available until 31 October — all other items will remain on the menu even after this month.

Additionally, IKEA Malaysia is also running a charity campaign with HOPE Worldwide Malaysia in conjunction with World Food Day, which falls on 16 October

"If you feel like eating good and doing good, from 16 October to 31 October 2021, be sure to get the World Food Day Combo which includes the plant-based schnitzel and mushroom soup priced at RM12.90," it said.

"For every portion of the combo sold, RM2.00 will be channeled to HOPE Worldwide Malaysia to fund food distribution programmes."

All new plant-based options are available for in-store dining, takeaway, and IKEA Food Order & Collect service
