A GrabFood Delivery Rider Was Killed In An Accident Involving A Truck

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

On Friday, 20 December, a GrabFood delivery rider was killed after his motorcycle and a truck were involved in an accident in Singapore

The 11:50am accident happened along Gambas Avenue towards Woodlands Ave 8.

The 42-year-old GrabFood rider was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics from the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF), reported New Straits Times.

While police are investigating the accident, photos circulating on social media showed that the truck was from a waste management company

According to a report in Straits Times, the waste management company, identified as '800 Super', has since released a statement saying that they are aware of the accident.

"We would not be making any comment as the case is currently under investigation."

Grab, too, has since released a statement to media

"We are deeply saddened to learn about the accident and are reaching out to the family to offer our support and assistance," a spokesperson from Grab said.

"As investigations are ongoing, we are unable to provide further comments."
