Attention, UM Students! MR DIY Wants To Give You RM300 To Buy Essentials For The New Sem
Students will be able to utilise the cash aid at any stores that accept payment through the Touch 'n Go eWallet.
Popular home improvement store MR DIY will be giving out RM300 to Universiti Malaya undergraduates returning to campus this coming semester
In a statement, the homegrown retailer noted that the incentive is meant to help students purchase essential supplies to facilitate their return to uni.
MR DIY chief executive officer (CEO) Adrian Ong said, "The reopening of campuses is a major milestone for university students. After many months of lockdown, they will finally be able to reconvene on campus to fully benefit from the in-person learning experience and enjoy the academic social interaction with lecturers and fellow students alike."
"We believe it's important that they are well equipped with protective and learning essentials to keep themselves safe while staying focused on their studies, which is why we are distributing this cash aid to undergraduates at [Universiti] Malaya," he added.
The cash aid will be wired to students through Touch 'n Go eWallet in three equal payments
The programme dubbed #DIY4UM is part of a collaboration between MR DIY and Touch 'n Go which came together earlier in July.
To be eligible for the cash aid, active Malaysian undergraduates at Universiti Malaya will have to register online via the university's Academic Portal MAYA by 3 October. They must also ensure that they have a valid account with Touch 'n Go eWallet.
After that, students can expect to see payments of RM100 reflected in their Touch 'n Go eWallet accounts on 1 November, 30 November, and 30 December.

However, the first 11,000 students who utilise the funds at MR DIY will be entitled to RM10 cashback when they spend a minimum of RM20 using the Touch 'n Go Wallet.
This cashback promotion is valid at MR DIY Group stores, the MR DIY website, as well as the MR DIY mini programme on Touch 'n Go eWallet.
