Man In Pahang Electrocuted To Death While Checking Floodwater Levels Outside His House
The victim's mother claimed she saw her son like he was electrocuted and rushed to his aid, but she was thrown off from him.
A man in Pahang was electrocuted to death after touching a pole in front of his house in Temerloh
According to Sinar Harian, the victim has been identified as a 41-year-old bank employee, Isyraf Muhammad.
The incident took place around 6.30pm yesterday, 5 January, at the victim's family home in Kampung Paya Kechik.
Police said that Isyraf was checking the rain and rising water levels outside of his home prior to the incident.
He was then electrocuted when he touched an iron pole submerged in floodwaters.
Temerloh district police chief ACP Mohd Yusri Othman told Bernama that the man's mother was also electrocuted.
He said, "The victim's mother claimed she saw her son like he was electrocuted and rushed to his aid, but she was thrown off from him."
After that, the victim's older brother took both Irsyad and his mother to the Tanjung Lalang Clinic, where the 41-year-old was pronounced dead.
The mother is currently receiving treatment at Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Hospital (HOSHAS) in Temerloh and Isyraf's body has also been sent for an autopsy
New Straits Times reported that the case has been classified as sudden death.
Meanwhile, Tenaga Nasional Berhad has been alerted about the incident and will investigate the source of the electric current.
