Mixue Malaysia has addressed concerns over a controversial job advertisement at one of its outlets, which sparked online backlash for seemingly excluding certain racial groups from employment opportunities

The issue arose when an Instagram user, @mohaneyyy, shared a screenshot of a job listing at Mixue's Sri Sinar outlet in Segambut.

The advertisement specified that only Malay and Chinese candidates with experience were eligible to apply, raising concerns about racial discrimination in hiring practices.

The post quickly gained traction, with many social media users criticising the ad for its exclusionary criteria.

Some questioned why a global food and beverage brand would engage in such hiring practices, calling for greater inclusivity and equal job opportunities for all Malaysians.

In response, Mixue Malaysia clarified to SAYS that the recruitment poster was put up by an individual store and did not reflect the company's official hiring policies

"Unfortunately, an error in their [the outlet's] hiring process led to misleading information. As soon as we became aware of the issue, we instructed the store to remove the poster and provided guidance to ensure their future recruitment practices follow proper procedures," Mixue Malaysia stated.

The company also emphasised that diversity and inclusion are core values in its business operations, from its affordable pricing to its hiring policies.

"We respect diversity and are committed to fostering an open, inclusive, and welcoming environment for employees from all backgrounds. Any form of discrimination contradicts our core values and will not be tolerated," the company stated.
