The Xiaomi SU7 Ultra: A Manic Hypercar Prototype That Hits 100KM/H In 1.9 Seconds

Xiaomi's recently unveiled SU7 Ultra prototype is nothing short of a race car
The Xiaomi SU7 Ultra electric vehicle (EV) is the first car to feature Xiaomi's newly announced HyperEngine V8s electric motor. This prototype includes three Xiaomi-developed motors: two V8s and one V6s electric motors, delivering a maximum of 1,548hp, surpassing high-end hypercars like the 1,479hp Bugatti Chiron.
The impetus of the SU7 Ultra lies in the newly developed Hyper Engine V8s
The Xiaomi-developed HyperEngine V8s boasts a maximum speed of 27,200rpm, 578hp, and a peak torque of 63Nm, making it Xiaomi's most powerful motor. The Xiaomi SU7 Ultra is also equipped with CATL’s Qilin 2.0 high-power battery, designed for racing, with a maximum output of 1330kW. Even at 20% state of charge, the battery can discharge 880kW of power.
The Qilin batteries use iron phosphate (LFP) chemistry. The SU7 Ultra features 897V charging and supports a 5.2C charge rate, allowing the car to recharge in less than 12 minutes.

The SU7 Ultra does the century sprint in merely 1.97 seconds and hits 200km/h from a standstill in just 5.97 seconds. It can also hit its top speed of 300kmh in just 15 seconds. It has a v-max of 350km/h and weighs just under 1,900kg.
In essence, the SU7 Ultra is almost as fast as a current generation Formula 1 car. For comparison, Max Verstappen's Red Bull Racing RB20 Formula 1 car does the century sprint in 1.7 seconds and weighs around 798kg.
For a car that's more than twice the weight of the RB20, the SU7 Ultra is truly fast.

The Xiaomi SU7 Ultra is equipped with AP Racing high-performance brake calipers specifically designed for racing, with six-piston forged fixed calipers at both the front and rear. It uses racing brake pads capable of withstanding temperatures over 800°C.
The car also employs motor reverse for brake energy recovery, providing up to 0.6G of braking force recovery. Under full braking conditions, it offers a deceleration of over 2.36G, going from 100km/h to a standstill in only 25 meters.
The design of the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra is significantly different from the standard SU7. It features a massive carbon fiber rear wing that generates up to 2,145kg of downforce. Additionally, the car has been modified for improved aerodynamics, including the addition of two large front vents and the enlargement of the front splitter and side skirts.
Xiaomi plans to break the Nürburgring record with the SU7 Ultra later this year
Currently, the fastest electric car around Nürburgring is the Volkswagen ID.R with a lap time of 6 minutes and 5 seconds.
The fastest four-door electric car is the Porsche Taycan Turbo GT with a lap time of 7 minutes and 7 seconds minutes.
Xiaomi aims to break this lap record at the legendary Nürburgring Nordschleife track in October.
