"Respect The Hustle" — Cheeky Monkey Steals Banana From Hawker Stall & Casually Eats It
"Maybe he is the supplier, he's just taking his cut," commented a user jokingly.
There's no denying that, at moments, we will go through anything just to get the food we've been craving.
Little did we know, animals operate with the same mindset too.
A recent TikTok has been going viral for showing one monkey go to such lengths to get himself a banana.
In a 19-second clip that was uploaded by user @118stormbaytaxi, a monkey can be seen casually lingering atop a cornered food stall in a hawker centre. Using pure stealth and skill, the monkey then bends down at one end of the stall to grab a bunch of bananas.
Slowly, yet carefully, the monkey rips off one banana before climbing to a beam high above the hawker stall to munch on the fruit. While there has been no confirmation, one commenter stated that the surroundings bear similarity to the Changi Village Hawker Centre in Singapore.
What makes the clip even more delightful is the Mission Impossible theme song playing in the background of the video, and the creator plastering a caption on the screen reading, "Respect the hustle."
Garnering massive attention online, the clip has since received over 200,000 views at the time of writing
Complimenting the monkey on its moves, one user jokingly stated that the animal was polite to take just one banana.
Another user even said in jest that the monkey is collecting the bananas one by one to create a long-term supply.
Nevertheless, the vast majority of responders couldn't help but make jokes at the expense of the video.
From saying that this is the true "service tax" to others saying that the monkey may actually be the supplier, some felt the creature was taking its rightful cut.
"Quality manager doing routine sample checks," said one person in reference to the monkey.
One of the commenters even asked the TikTok user who posted the clip whether the stall owner was informed about the matter, to which the user jokingly responded saying that there was a staring contest between the stall aunty and the monkey.
