A young man from Johor has captured the attention of TikTok users for his attempt to pay for a stranger's meal at a McDonald's drive-thru

In a video uploaded on his TikTok account @yiendiwn, 23-year-old Nadzren can be seen receiving his food at the payment counter of the drive-thru.

As he was about to pay, the kind youth told the cashier that he would also like to foot the bill for the car behind him in the queue.

"The car at the back, can you add their bill together with mine? I want to pay for them," he said excitedly as he whipped out a debit card.

Nadzren told SAYS that he likes to pay for strangers whenever he can.

"Not everyone is as lucky as us, we never know who are in trouble. So I will randomly spend money on people around me, even though I do not know them or their fate. I do it sincerely," he said.

Unfortunately, this time, he did not expect the cashier to say, "Okay, the total is RM257.90"

In the video, his face immediately fell. "Why is it so expensive?" Nadzren asked the cashier.

She explained to him that the bill was high because the driver behind him had bought many breakfast sets to bring to the office.

In the end, the young man decided that he could not afford to pay for the stranger's bill.

"I don't have enough... Cancel lah, kak," he said, after thinking it through for a few moments.

The cashier can be heard reassuring him that he will have another chance to pay for someone else in the future.

"You have a good heart. You had good intentions. It's okay, just not this time," she said as he shyly handed over his card to pay for his own food.

The comments section was filled with netizens who commended the young man anyway – many did not know whether to laugh or cry when he heard the price that he had to pay

As of writing, the video has garnered over 1.6 million views, 163,000 likes, and nearly 7,000 comments.

"Aduh," commented a TikTok user, both laughing and crying.

"I would have been alarmed too. It's okay. At least you had good intentions," assured another user.

This netizen also said, "It's okay, brother. As long as your intentions were good. Wishing you an abundance of good fortune."
