Love is in the air in Paris, and many athletes are making grand romantic gestures at the Olympic Games.

Here are some of the best love stories we've seen so far:

1. Czech Republic mixed doubles tennis players Katerina Siniakova and Tomas Machac broke up before the Paris Olympics.

However, they still decided to compete together and won gold, celebrating with a kiss on the podium.

No, this is not the plot of a romance novel.

The Czech Republic tennis couple, who were dating for four years, reportedly broke up one month before the Paris Olympics.

However, they still decided to compete together, and ultimately took home the mixed doubles gold medal. They could be seen sharing an emotional embrace and celebratory kiss on the podium, sparking fans to wonder if they're back together.

"That's our personal life, so you don't need to know that," Siniakova told a reporter who asked during a post-match news conference.

"We like when you are confused," she added with a chuckle. Machac also jokingly chimed in, "This is top secret."

2. Just moments after securing a gold medal, China's badminton mixed doubles player Huang Yaqiong received a proposal from her boyfriend, fellow badminton player Liu Yuchen

Men's doubles player Liu presented Huang with an engagement ring at the La Chapelle Arena after she came down from the podium with a gold medal hanging around her neck.

Having waited for her to achieve her Olympic dream, Liu got down on one knee and bravely proclaimed, "Huang Yaqiong! I'll love you forever! Will you marry me?"

With tears in her eyes, Huang said yes.

"I cannot describe the feeling I have because I am happy, happy, happy. Today, I became an Olympic champion and I got engaged," Huang told reporters after the surprise.

3. French runner Alice Finot proposed to her long-time boyfriend right after completing her race, pulling the engagement pin out of her running bib

Finot proposed to her boyfriend, Spanish triathlete Bruno Martínez Bargiela, who was in the audience, right after she crossed the finish line of the women's 3,000m steeplechase final.

She came in fourth, breaking the nine-minute mark of the 3,000m steeplechase and setting the European record in the discipline.

In the now-viral video, she can be seen fishing around in her running bib for the Olympic pin that she held during the race and kneeling down to ask for his hand in marriage.

He said yes, and the beaming couple shared a long hug.

4. Swedish pole vaulter Armand "Mondo" Duplantis ran straight to his girlfriend to celebrate after breaking a world record in the men's pole vault final

Duplantis could be seen running towards his girlfriend, fashion model Desire Inglander, after soaring above the chord line at 6.25m at the Stade de France.

The winning moment was caught on video by Inglander herself, with the caption "forever your biggest fan", showing an ecstatic Duplantis racing towards her in the stands for a passionate kiss.

The video has garnered over 125 million views on TikTok, with millions of fans celebrating the happy couple.

5. Italian high jumper Gianmarco Tamberi accidentally lost his wedding ring in the Seine during the opening ceremony, but penned the most romantic apology to his wife, which saved it all

"I'm sorry, my love, I'm so sorry," Tamberi wrote earnestly to his wife, Chiara Bontempi, on Instagram.

Tamberi, who was the nation's flagbearer, said it was probably because he had lost weight from training or due to his uncontrollable enthusiasm at waving the flag, but the ring slipped off his finger and fell into the river.

However, he said, "If it had to happen, if I had to lose this ring, I couldn't imagine a better place. It will remain forever in the riverbed of the city of love, flown away as I tried to carry the Italian flag as high as possible during the opening ceremony of the most important sporting event in the world. If I had to invent an excuse, I could never have been so imaginative."

The athlete also suggested to his wife that they return to Paris together and throw her ring into the river too, "so that they will be together forever" and to have another excuse to renew their vows and marry again.

"Only you can turn something like this into something romantic," his wife replied with crying emojis and a heart in the comments.

What a save.

Bonus: Malaysia's badminton star, men's doubles player Aaron Chia, also dedicated his bronze medal win to his wife as a birthday present

"Happy birthday to my love. Hope that this could be the most special birthday gift for you," he wrote in an Instagram post with a sweet photo of them both.

ALL OF THEM ARE ADORABLE.
